“Stanley The Leaf Pile” started as a weekend afternoon of fall chores of raking up the leaves with the reward of leaping into a giant pile. This, of course, made just as much of a mess as we had just cleaned up. The jumping into the leaves would not be my only reward as it was the start of “Stanley The Leaf Pile”.
He is not only my favourite character to date but also inspired one school principal to dress up like Stanley on a “Come as your favourite story book character day”. I knew at this point that I had something very special.
The artwork is nothing short of amazing. Rob Langille outdid himself once again. My favourite feature piece is of Stanley as “The Thinker”, sitting on a stump hatching his plan for backyard domination.
I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I had fun creating this book and think of Stanley each time you see a pile of leaves.
